CSH International Inc. Hockey Franchises Update
The Monarch Corporations holding company, CSH International, owns five professional hockey teams across the United States. With all the teams well into the season, let’s take a look at each franchise and break down the start of their 2017-18 campaigns.
Everett Silvertips
Western Hockey League
Everett, Washington
After coming off a great 2016-17 season, finishing 1st in their division, the Silvertips are off to a slow 8-10-1 start but still holding on to the last playoff spot in the western conference. They will be looking for a big weekend as they play 3 straight games from November 17-19.
Central Illinois Flying Aces
United States Hockey League
Bloomington, Illinois
The Flying Aces, who are sporting a new name and logo this year, are off to a very solid start (7-5-1) putting them 2nd in the eastern conference, just two points behind the Chicago Steel. After missing the playoffs last year, this is exactly the start the Flying Aces are looking for.
Amarillo Bulls
North American Hockey League
Amarillo, Texas
The Bulls are also off to a solid start to the season posting a 8-6-3 record. This puts them 4th in the South Division of the NAHL, however they have played only 17 games so far which puts them at the bottom of the league for games played. With games in hand on most of the league, you can expect the Bulls to charge up the standings in the next few weeks.
North Iowa Bulls
North American 3 Hockey League
Mason City, Iowa
If you want to see a team that dominates their competition, look no further that the North Iowa Bulls. They have finished 1st in their division 5 years in a row, and they are not looking to make this year any different. Through 16 games this season, the Bulls have yet to lose in regulation. Their 13-0-3 start has them right back on track for another championship season.
Peoria Rivermen
Southern Professional Hockey League
Peoria, Illinois
Much like the North Iowa Bulls, the Rivermen have been filling up the trophy case the past two seasons. With back to back regular season titles (2014-15, 2015-16) the Rivermen will be looking to roll on their opponents again this season. Their solid start of 5-3 have them sitting in 2nd place in the SPHL.
